Data Quality Campaign Leveraging ARRA and Other Federal Funding Sources for P-20/Workforce Longitudinal Data Systems

- Description: The Data Quality Campaign will host a meeting entitled, “Leveraging ARRA and Other Federal Funding Sources for P-20/Workforce Longitudinal Data Systems” to be held on September 2, 2009. Registration opens at 2:30 P.M., and the meeting runs from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. EST in the Russell Senate Office Building, Room 325 located at Constitution Ave. and First St., NE, Washington, DC.
This meeting serves to position the linkage of student-level data across sectors as integral to the national education improvement agenda and will showcase a state that has accomplished critical linkages in a short time through strong leadership and vision. Speakers representing three federal agencies will discuss how the current Administration views data and show how their agencies are working together in new ways. The meeting will be webcast live to enable participation by our state and local partners and there will be a question and answer session after the presentations.
Confirmed panelists include: The Honorable Carmel Martin, Assistant Secretary, Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development, U.S. Department of Education; The Honorable Jane Oates, Assistant Secretary, Employment and Training Administration, U.S. Department of Labor; The Honorable Joan Lombardi, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Gerald Zahorchak, Secretary of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education.
