Arkansas Department of Education receives $ 9.8 Million Grant to use for Implementation of Statewide Longitudinal Data System

• Description: The Arkansas Department of Education has been awarded a $9.8 million grant for the design and implementation of a statewide longitudinal data system. Arkansas was one of 20 states to receive one of the grants, which was funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 to support the development and implementation of data systems to enable states to examine student progress from early childhood into career, including matching teachers to students, while protecting student privacy and confidentiality consistent with applicable privacy protection laws.
