• Description: This brief highlights four states models for creating a connected data system that follows a student over his or her education. Currently, there is no 'silver bullet model for states seeking to align P?20 data systems; however, these state case studies offer four distinct approaches that were developed based on the states unique political and technical environments. The commonality across these states is that they convened diverse stakeholders from P?12 and postsecondary systems to define what they are trying to accomplish and how aligning P?20 data systems will help achieve these goals.
